1. About the organization:  CoRE

Center for Counseling, Research and Empowering Community – CoRE is a non-governmental organization, established in 2013 under Vietnam Union of Scientific and Technological Associations.

Mission: Providing highly qualified resources and service in the field of mental healthcare and social development; developing research programs in applying social service provision.

Vision: Building a friendly and sustainable community that is spiritually and physically healthy.

2. What is LET’S TALK?

Let’s Talk is a project initiated and operated by Center for Counseling, Research and Empowering Community (CoRE) since September 2013 with the objective of “Developing counseling services and offering training in counseling skills for the community by working with experienced/social workers, both local and international. Until now, Let’s Talk has organized six successful training courses for 121 Let’s Talkers.

3. What activities do LET’S TALK offer?

  • Training by local and international experts who utilize creative and effective methods to provide knowledge and practical skills in counseling;
  • Mentoring/Coaching sessions to help participants practice their skills;
  • Various social events held at CoRE and Tea Talk to raise awareness and understanding of issues in the community;
  • A growing network of people helping professional in Vietnam and abroad with expertise and passion to empower you in your development as a person.

4. LET’S TALK and the opportunities that awaits you:

  • A chance to work along side, local and international social workers and counselors;
  • Full or partial scholarship for Let’s Talk;
  • To see theoretical ideas put into practice;
  • To receive a Certificate of  Participation issued by CoRE;

  • Be a citizen or resident who is studying and working in the city of Hanoi;
  • Have an interest and passion for the activities in the field of social work, counseling, and community development;
  • Have an understanding of social issues;
  • Have a strong desire to improve skills required in basic counseling (communication, conversation, dialogue, listening, observing body language…);
  • Priority on students who are studying or have studied social work/psychology;
  • Commitment (minimum 3 months);
  • English is an advantage.

6. Tuition – Scholarship:

  • Tuition: 1,350,000 dong/student;
  • There are full and partial scholarships to be awarded to the most suitable candidates.

(2) Pay the registration fees in the Office of CoRE – No. 9 Block 1G, Trung Yen 6, Cau Giay District, Hanoi (opposite No. 91 Trung Kinh). Please call before coming via the following hotline number.

Fee for registration: 30,000 dong/profile

  • Application round: opens from 16/8 to 31/8/2016;
  • Interview round: 8 – 10/9/2016.

(For candidates who have passed the registration)

  • Training time:

+ Theory training: 14/8 – 8/10/2016 (sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings – afternoons for 4 consecutive weeks);

+ Supervision and mentoring: 10/10 – 18/12/2016.
