Time: Fri 28th Oct (6 – 9 PM) and Sat 29th Oct (9:30 AM – 4 PM).

Contents:

*Day 1 (28th Oct):

– Sharing on beauty and insecurities;

– Talk on personal hygiene and create organic shampoo and deodorant;

– Hands-on session on proper skincare and DIY blackhead remover.

*Day 2 (29th Oct):

– Discussion on different eye shapes, face shapes;

– Demo & hands-on basic make-up;

– Basic hairdo tutorial & hands-on;

– Confidence Photoshoot!

Speaker’s profile:

Ms. Lim Song Lee had worked in the field of Medical Social Work for more than 18 years. She had dealt with heart and kidney failure patients, involved in heart and renal transplant work. She also had the opportunity of dealing with trauma patients at the Emergency department. Her other areas of involvement include in the area of mental health, intensive care, general medicine, rehabilitative medicine and palliative care. She had worked with Singapore International Foundation doing palliative training to health care workers at K2 hospital in Hanoi previously. Currently, she is a part time Senior Community Coordinator with Eastern Health Alliance, Singapore. She is a registered social worker with the Singapore Association of Social Workers. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Social Work) and also a Master of Social Science (Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Dear friends,

Tea Talk CoRE Fundraising Gala Dinner is here again and we would like to invite you to join us make an impact in the community and help us sending our invitation to your friend list.

Our social impact through the Centre for Counseling, Research & Empowering Community (CoRE) has expended. For a snapshot of our impact, you can review the videos of the various projects and events we have organized over the past few years at our official channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/TeaTalkVN/videos
CoRE’s yearly operating expenses is budgeted at around US$59 000.  Our goal is to raise US$120 000 through the different fund raising events throughout 2016.  This will give CoRE at least 2 years of operating expenses. To date, we have raised near to US$15 000.
We are asking that you consider supporting us in the following ways:
1) Sponsor a table for a 9 course dinner at Fortuna Hanoi Hotel with a donation starting from US$800.
2) Buy a few tickets for yourself and invite your friends/ business associates to the gala dinner.
3) Buy a few tickets/tables for the beneficiaries of organizations working with disadvantaged children, orphans and people with disability.
4) Be a sponsor and give a cash donation directly to CoRE in support towards the fundraising effort.

FullSizeRenderEvery Saturday near the end of month, Three Cups of Tea Library again gets warmer, for we have Hanoi Book Swap here!

Let’s bring a book that you’ve read, of any genre, to share with everyone else the meaning or the interesting details you’ve found in that book. If you like any book that others share, you both can exchange books with each other.

Together with the exciting book exchange, this month, we have a little change for the book of focus to discuss. We will return to Asian literature and talk about a book that’s probably been familiar with generations of Vietnamese readers, Totto-chan: The Little Girl at the Window (Japanese: 窓ぎわのトットちゃん Madogiwa no Totto-chan).
Filled with innocent and unforgettable childhood memories, the book written by Tetsuko Kuroyanagi is about a Tokyo elementary school during World War II, in which learning was wonderfully hand in hand with fun, freedom, and love for children.
